And he kept stacks of clippings once he eventually decided to get of a few newspapers after me and mom [who was also a hoarder...] complained about the mess. So, if I tell you I am not a newspaper reader, that shouldn't surprise you at all. I used to rely on TV news, from both French and English networks, to get both versions about various issues. Then came the internet. My homepage is full of news of various sources and kind. So I am proud to say that no tree got hurt in order for me to keep informed.
:)~
HUGZBruno Lalibertéhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09607511642101907283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7335697599281687572.post-73435242456589729112013-04-30T15:33:26.575-07:002013-04-30T15:33:26.575-07:00I'm afraid in a few years reading paper newspa...I'm afraid in a few years reading paper newspapers will be considered archaic. I have a photo of my great grandmother and I thought she looked old but when I looked at the date, she was the same age that I am now. It was the clothing, glasses, hat and shoes that made her look so much older than she really was (and she had a lot harder life than me).Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06636761469099608281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7335697599281687572.post-87858187644767938632013-04-27T20:14:52.221-07:002013-04-27T20:14:52.221-07:00A full Sunday edition of theme photos. It's almost more than my dog can deal with to retrieve two papers. But I've discovered that I can't read the huge volume of news in this paper. My attention span is too short and the weight of information makes my head ache. I suspect this is some misguided gift from a secret admirer, but sadly most of it ends up in the recycling bin. We still have a paper every which I fetch from the local garage, 2 miles away. This forces me to walk for exercise. A charming collection of photos. I haven't gone this route myself this week, but now that I think about it, I do recall a photograph of my grandfather reading a broadsheet newspaper on the beach somewhere. I sometimes miss the tactile experience of a broadsheet newspaper, but the Times went tabloid, so I lost that, and these days, I much prefer the multi-media experience of the iPad edition.
