Of course the fact that WW2 was raging may have influenced the curriculum and every morning at assembly we sang Land of Hope and Glory, There'll Always be an England and of course, God Save the King. <br />I love watching cricket, particularly the tests. There is no other game where the grass grows, the rain falls or not, the light comes or goes and after five days there might not be a result! Wonderfully eccentric and English to the core!Stafford Rayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03048757515249725540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7335697599281687572.post-70472090101650735602012-08-02T04:14:28.254-07:002012-08-02T04:14:28.254-07:00What an insight and so apt right now! What an insight and so apt right now!Helenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13447013188405986054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7335697599281687572.post-76995807192373989872012-07-30T20:26:31.266-07:002012-07-30T20:26:31.266-07:00Lovely post. I'm kind of in the same boat as Jenny, since cricket was really only spoken about when my mother was still alive, but it's quite an awesome sport for those in the know! I have to begin working on my Sepia Saturday post, which I have no idea presently what it shall be!21 Witshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00071361755673253230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7335697599281687572.post-37504155583977013372012-07-26T08:23:31.468-07:002012-07-26T08:23:31.468-07:00I can imagine many a boy reciting that poem with g...I can imagine many a boy reciting that poem with great dramatic flare.
